Currency conversion doesnt work

Theres a setting to change default currency to CAD but when I made entries for expenses, it will always be in USD and it will try to convert that amount to CAD.

Extremely confusing and frustrating for users in Canada.

Workaround is to keep default currency as USD but I cant imagine how messy it will be when CAD is properly supported down the road (will it convert all existing entries from USD to CAD even though they are actually in CAD?). All these made me think twice before adopting this app for my expense tracking, what a shame...
